Service
"Love one another as I have loved you." This is the commandment of Jesus. The goal of the Christian Service Program at Trenton Catholic is to make a difference in the lives of others by living out the commandment of love.
SERVICE REQUIREMENTS. Christian service is an essential part of the TCA curriculum. Students volunteer 25 hours each year and hand in a written reflection explaining how their service continued the mission of Christ.
SERVICE POSSIBILITIES. Students may volunteer for any nonprofit organization which offers a service to people. Examples are after-school programs, food pantries, soup kitchen, Churches, religious education, CYO, Catholic Charities, Mount Carmel Guild, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA,
Senior Citizen day care centers, hospitals, nursing homes, pre-schools, PAL, Police snow removal and assistance to the elderly program, Special Olympics, Allies, programs for the handicapped, building housing for the poor, Trenton Catholic activities, sports programs and camps for the youth, etc. There are many opportunities to serve in the community, beyond this list. UPCOMING SERVICE EVENTS. Various community organizations ask TCA students for help at special events. Listen to announcements in the morning and especially in the cafeteria. Sign up with Sr. Barbara.
SERVICE REPORT FORM. To receive credit for your volunteer service, turn in the Service Report form found on this webpage and a one page typed reflection on how your service continues the work and mission of Jesus..
SERVICE PICTURES. Helping others is personally rewarding and often it is fun! Take a picture of yourself giving service, email it to Sr. Barbara, and see it on this website or on the bulletin board by the cafeteria.
