This is my first year teaching at TCA and I am thrilled to be a part of a great school and wonderful community surrounded by God's love!
My philosophy of education surrounds the student as a whole. We have to focus on the whole child, not just the academic portion. A well rounded child is a child who will be academically able, but also morally and ethically aware. I will utilize Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences and plan on using that theory to help construct creative lessons (hands on learning, centers, etc.) for the classroom. By exposing a child to the many different avenues of their own intelligence we can open up new avenues of exploration. Also, teaching takes a village. We will work together to create a solid relationship to raise up the students academically and in our Catholic faith!
My classroom management is fair yet firm, and always done in a positive way! The students will have clear procedures and expectations so they are setup to succeed! I will strive to create a solid bond with my students and will get to know each and every one of them and I hope to get to know each and every parent as well!
PLEASE do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns or questions!
A LITTLE ABOUT ME......
Teaching is my second career; I decided to go back to school for teaching and graduated from Drexel University with my Bachelors in Elementary Education in 2012, with a concentration in Math & Science, graduating with Honors. I have taught K - 4th grade and am looking forward to fifth grade! Previous to my degree I worked in the private corporate sector in Program Management for children's health and wellness.
I am from Brooklyn, NY but spent my teen and early adulthood in Queens, NY until I met Mr. Lehman! I have been married to Mr. Lehman for just about 23 years and have 3 fabulous children; two sons, ages 19 and 17 and our 12 year old daughter. We also have 3 dogs (yes 3!); they are all rescue dogs, and although they make us crazy sometimes we love them to bits! In my spare time (what spare time!) I enjoy participating in Bike-a-thon's with Mr. Lehman (80 miles was our longest ride so far) and we have been riding for 10 years. I also enjoy going to the gym with Mr. Lehman, watching my sons' soccer games and my daughter's softball games, walking our dogs, watching movies, and cooking!
Some of my favorites.....
My favorite color is dark green.
My favorite sport is cycling.
My favorite season is Fall.
My favorite beverage is COFFEE (and of course water).
My favorite food is rigatoni in a blush sauce with lots and lots of romano cheese! Yum.
The coolest place I have ever been is Australia!
My dream vacation would be to visit the castles of Ireland and England.
Something you don't know..... I am a cancer survivor!
