"Why did I become a school counselor?”
“I became a school counselor to meet the needs of students on a psychosocial level. It was my desire to obtain the skills necessary to help direct, educate and shape the futures of the students with whom I came in contact, in a way that maximized the student’s full capacity for self-actualization. In addition, I wanted to be an instrumental part of the system that advocated for the social change and growth of not just the individual, but also the system, the institution and the society as a whole.”
IN A NUTSHELL: I want to help a student with all of his/her problems to help him/her succeed in school and in life altogether, as well as fight for a student as an advocate in progressive change.
